Fan Coil Units

A fan coil unit is simply a device consists of heating and cooling oil. Fan coil units traditionally contain their own thermostat so it can cool itself down when it gets to hot. The fan coil works by cooling the air in the room side unit and absorbing the heat energy by the refrigerant. The refrigerant is then pumped as gas in lines to the external condenser. The Condenser cools the refrigerant by drawing air across the coil and condensing it into liquid.Due to their simplicity, fan coil units are more economical to install than ducted or central heating systems with air handling units. However, they can be noisy because the fan is within the same space.

However I am sure you guys have heard about Air Handling Unit (AHU) also. AHU is basically referred to as a generic term for anything or any device which is involved in the transportation, heating or cooling of air. After the heating or cooling of the air, the air stream is moved forward or directed to the required placed through air ducts which include rooftop units and furnaces. But there a petite difference between AHU and FCU. The fan coil units are smaller and self-contained than the AHU's. And the major difference between AHU and FCU lies in the fact that in FCU's there is no ducting involved for the movement of air. In the FCU's the fan in the internal section of the FCU carries out the function of moving the air over a heated or cooled coil and then directly moving out the air into the surrounding air without the use of any ducts. The FCU's can also be used in the case of water also where as AHU's deal with air only.

The FCU in GAMI is made from 1.0 mm thick galvanized (G90) Steel sheet. It has a Drain Pan also made from 1.0 mm thick galvanized (G90) Steel sheet, polyester powder coated for corrosion resistance.

The cooling coil is separately designed for standard/district cooling chilled water Applications. The Fan is centrifugal double inlet double width, forward curved, balanced to avoid noise and increase efficiency.

The Fan motors are provided with 5 speeds. Factory pre-selected and pre-wired to the terminal block fr 3 speeds – high, medium, low. The best part is the air filter which is designed havefactry installed permanent and washable aluminium filters.
